Vergina

Vergina is a small town in northern Greece, in the Prefecture of Imathia, in the region of Central Macedonia. The city became world-renowned in 1977, when the University's Excavation of the Aristotle University with archeology professor Manolis Andronikos and his colleagues discovered among the other graves a burial monument that, in his view, was King Philip II, the father of the Great Alexander.
